And while we're plugging our fave hats... :-) A plug for a local biz here in my area, Sunday Afternoons, make all kinds of "sun-wear" and a good variety of hats, including for sun and for rain: https://www.sundayafternoons.com/ The "cruiser" model is a sailing/boating type; I don't have one of those but I have a couple of their more all-purpose sun hats for hiking, kayaking, sailing, etc.. One has their "clamshell" brim, a travel model with the "soft" back fabric and the front half brim but the brim folds in the middle so the whole thing folds flat, light and compact. They are mid-range in price retail. The store here in town always has a sale/seconds rack so that's where I get mine. They used to have a whole seconds outlet a few miles north of town but closed it a few years back. Also great sun-shirts for sailing, I have a plain white long-sleeve (from seconds rack :-) that I use all the time for sailing and paddling. cheers, John S. This is one of the world's best hats. The brim can be formed any way you want, and it is waterproof. Unlike things like the Tilly hat, it does not flop around. And it has cachet. And looks great on women too. And is comfortable, and airy.
