So I WOULDN'T want the 5200 bond?  Is the issue the re-re-bedding down the road?

Boatlife is at the top for "marine" caulk and A1 for bedding hardware.  It is basically a one part polysulfide and not meant to bond like  3M 5200 does. The best polysulfides are two part mix and used in commercial applications...but not available at the local ship store.
