You don't want the entire boat weight to rest and be supported only by the keel. The boat weight needs to be shared 50/50 by keel and hull. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: Baba 30 #233 DEJA VU :: former owner SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com On Sun, May 28, 2023, 07:22 Jim Sadler <jimsadler@jascopacific.com> wrote:
Thanks Dave I don’t think my floating dry dock lift will need bunks like a trailer. I think I can support the weight resting on the keel and have some uprights to steady it??? Not a rough ride like a trailer. My floats will be (4) 50 gal plastic drums which should give me 4x50x8=1600 lbs of lift if water is 8 lbs per gal……right? To lift the hull I plan to pump air into the drums and let air out to lower it. Capt Jim SV Pelican
