Hi George, Four is always better, top two bolts, one on each leg should be bolted through a plate. I used a ss tang I had lying around to spread the load. Just drilled holes in it. Or nice big flat washers can be used. The bolts at the upper end of the ladder bracket take the load thru sheer. The lower bolts have to deal with being levered out of the transom so use the ss as high in the bolt scheme as you can. Here is the web address of the MSOG site. Just bookmark it once you find it. http://msogphotosite.com/Scripts/General/index.php Fair winds, Tom B. <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail&utm_term=icon> Virus-free. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail&utm_term=link> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> On Tue, Apr 3, 2018 at 10:42 AM, George Iemmolo <griemmolo2@gmail.com> wrote:

Is the Telescoping ladder that you used a 2 pt. mtg.? Reference Dave S. comment, if it is 2 point how did you mount it and what results have you had? Do you have a link I can visit or model # I can search for?

Thanks for the heads up on mounting points. I was looking at a compassable ladder that only had 2 mtg. points.
The Sage Marine link indicated no route. Any other way I can get the information as that would be helpful.

George:
Beware of boarding ladders with only two attachment points. They are prone to pulling out of the transom.
Get a three or four attachment point model.

I am looking to mount a boarding ladder as soon as the weather cooperates, presently 40 deg. in NWI 50 mi. E of Chicago.
Would like some feed back as to which type and any ideas on mounting same.
Looking at where I would have to get to indicates either mounting a hatch on the starboard side of the cockpit stern to get to the mounting screws or borrowing my great grand daughter (6 yr.) to clime into the starboard locker and hold the nuts. I have spoken to my grandson and he is o.k. with that😎
