I've been holding off on jumping into this thread with the old adage "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all". However, I'm not convinced Kyle deserves all the trash talk coming his way and seriously doubt that he posted his information just to piss everyone off. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he really is in the boat market and has some valid concerns and expressed them in the proper forum. Bob Eeg is to some degree the "keeper of the flame" these days and if he is soiling the reputation of M boats with attitudes I have seen posted, then it is welcome to discuss here. I have been on this list for a very long time and have never seen it degrade like some of the past few day's postings.
My own experiences from a few conversations I have had with Bob in the past were that he was less than upfront and loose with the facts, to the point I was not comfortable doing business with him. And, I can say from some local folks at our marina with a NS 27 that not all of those folks are in love with him either. I'm sure Bob will dismiss this also as a flame and run or whatever he calls it, but I've been around a few years and care more about the future of our boats than offending the builder. So Kyle, for all of those who welcome your comments and appreciate your concerns, thanks for posting some information that deserves some serious consideration. Look for a good used older M boat and see why folks passions run so high here on this list.

I am new to the list so I didn’t know that this issue was off limits.  I was interested in the m17 because I read some things that said it was a very good boat.  I read most of this off the msog.org website.  I am sure that many of you are very happy with your boat and the way you have been treated by Mr. Eeg.  However, I am surprised at the number of emails I have received from people that were less than happy or unhappy.  I haven’t written this boat off yet but I am actively looking for a comparable alternative.

Sorry to touch on a sensitive subject.

Kyle

Kyle, this horse has been beaten extensively.  Last time it came up (and it hasn't come up for quite a while), we all agreed it was an off-list topic.  But I think you have seen from the response from the list that Bob's given good service by and large.  If there have been others with a bad experience they'll probably get in touch via your email rather than the list.  Good luck.  Tom

I have discovered some information that Bob Eeg has taken some people when it comes to selling boats?  What is the story the information I read http://www.norsea27.com/faq.htm#just%20the%20faqs%20mamn looks pretty convincing.  Who owns Montgomery boats?  If you purchase one will you actually take delivery?

Thanks

Kyle
