Jerry, It is a Bob boat. 2003. All 4 sheaves are .375 wide, with a .142 wide groove. So there is room to turn the groove wider and deeper for 5/16 line. Just have to make sure I ease/radius the remaining edges and also ease the edges on the mast head casting to reduce/prevent any chafe on the lines. I might check around for delrin sheaves that fit, or delrin blanks and turn them at the shop. I can call Dwyer and check their available sizes. Bill- If this is one of my boats the sheaves for both the main ands jib are 3/8, so if you convert to all line halyards there is plenty of room for 5/16.

The wire section on my jib halyard is not long enough to reach to the deck
at the stem fitting. When the jib is hauled down the top 2 hanks are still up on the forestay. The rope to wire splice is stopped at the masthead. I can get a new longer wire spliced on, or I was thinking about converting to all rope. However in looking at the masthead casting, there is not enough room for wider sheaves to handle rope. The casting only has a 3/4" slot where the sheaves are mounted. Has anyone done this conversion to rope? If so did you have to change the mast head to another casting? Where does Bob get the masts and fittings from? Dwyer or other? Thanks
