If you are talking about a Canadian made sailboat somewhat similar in size to the M17...that would be that Sandpiper 565 which was last made by CL Boatworks in 1992. I owned a 1986 model. There are still quite a few sailing mostly in Ontario and Quebec. A yearly rendezvous takes place usually in Ontario and attended by a dozen boats. The manufacturer still produces three or four smaller models...the biggest being the CL 16 which was based on the Wayfarer. The Sandpiper 565 is based on the British Sailfish 18. i believe that the 'monkey fur' carpet on the cabin hull sides and coach roof makes the boat go faster. similar science to the 'backstay chicken' installed on Jerry's S17.
