Hi Chad. My 2 cents is an M15 is too small for 3. I spent many happy years sailing our M15 mainly single handed and for that, it's super. Ideal. Two is pushing the comfort zone even in the cockpit (people will disagree, but again, this is my opinion), and inside, way too cramped. Three would be out of the question. There are several M17s for sale from very good homes. You can't go wrong. Having owned both, I assure you the difference in space between the M17 and M15 is remarkable... t On 2/23/07, Chad Parrish <cparrish@fafnirnet.net> wrote:
Hello group,
I am new here. We currently own 2 boats, a Ranger 23 and a Com-pac 16. We have kept our Ranger on Lake Superior in a slip but have grown tired of being limited by that location and decided to get a trailer sailor. We found a Com-pac 16 and that worked fine when it was just the two of us, however this fall we added a new addition to the family and the C-16 is just too small. We have seen Montgomery 17s and we know that boat will work well for us, but we have not seen a Montgomery 15, we think there is a chance the 3 of us would be able to sleep comfortably on the 15, unless someone here tells me otherwise. So we are currently in the market. We live in Minnesota but have no problem driving cross country for the right boat, we have done it before. If you have your boat for sale, or if you think my reasoning is flawed :-) please feel free to contact me.
Regards,
Chad Parrish Henderson, MN 651-338-8152 1976 Ranger 23 1984 Com-Pac 16
