Recently I saw a storm sail that fit like a sleeve over the furled headsail. I would have seen it in one of four sources: Cruising World; This Old Boat; Practical Sailor; or Lats/Atts. Does this ring a bell to anyone. M-17 folks? This spring we fitting our M-17 "Little Breeze" with a furling headsail that works really great with one exception....really stiff wind like 20 knots plus trying to punch to windward. On our previous sailboats (25 ft and 32ft) we would fly our storm jib but with the furling headsail on the Monty there is no forestay to hank to. What have other M-17 owners done....aside from using the iron spinaker which is what we did this summer on a couple of occasions.?
