Ian: I haven't sailed my 15 on SF bay but I've been there. One factor that you might want to consider is the hull speed of a 15 is around 5.5 knots and given the currents you guys have, you may want to consider a boat with a longer waterline. That said, I have no doubt that the M15 can take the conditions that you have in the bay, she is a very seaworthy little boat plus she is easy to rig, and easy to handle.
