Harvey, Thanks for the input on the Montgomery 12. Yes, you perfectly described it. This boat is in Tulsa Oklahoma. The builder's plate says "type 12 number 144". It has been in storage many years. After learning more about it, thanks to research on the internet and input from this group (including the builder, Jerry Montgomery- isn't the internet amazing) I've talked to the owner about selling it to me. He has agreed but has no idea of a fair price. He told me to try it out and see if any parts are missing. It will probably be a couple of weeks before I can get it out of storage. The tires on the trailer are original and probably have rot after 25 years so before trying to move it I'll get new tires and put buddy bearings on the axles. In looking at used small sailboats, prices are all over the map so the value of an old boat seems to be what its worth to you. After I get it out and try to set up the rigging I may be back to ask questions.
