Man, that's a dangerous thing to do, launch from the beach. I have seen people loose their vehicles as they sink into the sand. My 17 needs at least 3-4 foot just to float her off the trailer. You don't have a ramp nearby? I have held off launching my 17 this year because I want everything to be perfect. I have always caused more damage to my boat at the launch site then any other place. gilbert -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+gilbert=mindgame.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+gilbert=mindgame.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of bo Swartwout Sent: Saturday, April 09, 2005 6:40 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: launching After the long New England winter I got the itch today to launch my new to me 15. I trailered down to the beach, rigged and proceeded to launch across the beach only to find it wasn't deep enough. I have a Dilly tilt trailer and that didn't help. How much water is needed to float a 15 off the trailerIt was good rigging practice anyway. Thanks for any info. _______________________________________________ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats
