As a follow up to my tp wiring question last week, could the collective brain trust shed any light on tiller pilot positioning. The Raymarine ST1000+ is pretty specific on positioning from the rudder pivot point. My question is to any who may have installed a tp is; to meet the required positioning, did you go with installing on the seat surface and raise it up to tiller level with a combination of optional pedestal socket rod or brackets on the tiller bottom face OR did you mount the tp up on the coaming surface and extend the reach by using the available push rod extensions? The coaming mount seems more straight forward, but could be a bit riskier with the possibility of losing the tp over the side. Hope you understand all the above, and thanks for any experience you can relate. Bill Wickett Makin' Time M17 #622
