Glad it was motivating. Have a great time on the ‘100’! Have fUn, go sail! On Fri, Jun 24, 2022 at 12:34 PM Henry Rodriguez <heinzir@gmail.com> wrote:
I remember seeing your pictures, Gary. That's what gave me the courage to tackle my own repair!

Transom reattach- been there on hull #316. I may have some photos- some were up on MSOG years ago. Straight forward
open seam between hull and deck, bevel edges back 2+ inches, bond with filler ( or West 655) tape using biaxial, fair and finish. The tape went over the deck edge and wrapped to hull. I barrier coated area - transom exterior and interior as ‘primer’ base for finish. Bonding showed no movement over nearly two decades. The boat was sailed competitively using a 6:1 backstay adjuster with a cascade and applied with vigor- no movement at hull/deck seam. Remove ALL TRACES OF SEALANT at joint! Bevel edges at least 2” per side. Good news- easiest access for structural repair you will ever experience! I also rebounded hull/deck joint from mid cockpit to stem plate as the original seam material had crumbled ( likely cabosil in polyester), and leaking thru toenail fasteners. Used West 655 G Flex for that, did not tape the seam. Filled all voids using large and small syringes, RE drilled holes for fasteners and replaced fasteners. No interior leaks from toe rail after that repair. Neither job is daunting.
I will try and round up photos. Feel free to ask questions. Good luck, have fUn, go sailing! GO M-15 #330 ‘Cahoots’ Previous M-17 #316 ‘Tiny Purple Fishes’ (photo)

Put the boat in water real quick to check CB operation. Up and down 2x no problem.
I also let her sit for 30 minutes no leaks either.
Cleaned out interior. PO had about 300# of gear stuffed in her. Flooded hull with water/bleach and black mold is gone. Nice and white inside now.
First project
Fix/reinforcement here!
Anyone go down this road yet. Transom is solid with this area pulling away.
