To All: I will be using the same distribution I used last year so If you would like me to add or drop your name just let me know. It's been a long cold winter and the Bay tributaries are still full of ice. Spring can't come soon enough! I keep thinking back to last years cruise which had some fantastic sailing time. We had a wide variety of conditions all of which led to some good times. We had 4 days of intense heat with mild winds and 4 days of cloudy and cool with good winds. The thought of the evening sail from Battleship creek to Broomes Is was a study in tranquility. Latter in the week The beam reach up the middle of the Bay from Solomons to the Little Choptank was absolutely superb. I expect more of the same. This years CBC will be held Saturday June 7th and will run through the week. I am making the trip to the Dry Tortugas in April for two weeks and will be using much of my vacation time for that. I will be on the CBC from Saturday through at least Tuesday. I have been thinking of starting this years cruise farther south on the Bay around Reedville. This is in an area called the Northern Neck which only got it's first paved roads in the late 40s. It is still undeveloped with few restaraunts or Marinas but the area is great for pristine sailing. Tangier Is is only 14 nm across the Bay on a beam reach from Mill Creek. Tangier is a classic watermans scene. Everyone on the Island makes their living off of the water or the people on it. Many of them Still speak old English. It is a very worthwhile trip if the weather is right. If the conditions aren't good for the Bay crossing there is plenty of good sheltered sailing in the nooks and crannies of the Northern Neck. Please provide some feed back on your level of interest so that we can all get a feel on how things are shaping up this year. If it would be easier for those of you coming down from the North we could set a very nice cruise on Eastern shore above the Bay bridge. This area has more restaurants and power boats and has something for everybody. Ideas Please! If anybody wants a video of last years CBC send a request off line. The rest of the CBC correspondence will off of the mail list. Thanks, Doug Kelch "Seas the Day" M15 #310 __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
