Thanks Rick, Yes, that is a Ruddercraft rudder. This was its first time in the water so I can't speak to any problems with it. I do have a Ruddercraft rudder, lower blade only, on my VN23 that has been working fine for about 5 years. I bought the rudder for the M17 primarily because I need a kick-up rudder because of shallow water and weeds where I sail. I could have converted the existing rudder but felt too pressed for time. The Idasailor rudder was a quick and easy, although expensive, solution. My darling wife bought it for me for our 40th anniversary! Great pix and a beautiful boat! Is that a Ruddercraft kickup rudder? I really like mine, except that it warped so that the tip is a couple of inches out of line. Have you had that problem?
