John: 15 minutes is great! I keep everything rigged as much as possible too. Before unstepping the mast, I just wrap the main halyard (it's all rope) around the mast 3 times to keep everything together. No or few ties needed there. It keeps the halyards from slapping when the mast is up too. Gary Hyde Pullman, WA gmhyde1@mac.com M17 #637 'Hydeaway 2' M15 #235 'Vanilla' On Nov 15, 2005, at 8:18 PM, John L. Gonzalez wrote:
Hi, Chris. I have a new M-15, and through my use of all available time-saving techniques known to me -- keeping the main on the boom, keeping the motor on the mount (okay per Bob Eeg, the builder), keeping the main and jib halyards rigged, etc. -- I've rigged my boat in less than 15 minutes, at times. I try to hustle, and keep track of my time, and enjoy the challenge of rigging her quickly. Admittedly, I've messed up -- catching the side stays, rigging the mainsheet incorrectly -- and have had 25+ minute times, but I'm making fewer errors, now!
