I want to charge my Kindle Fire. Everything else I have has a 12v adapter, i.e., cell phone, GPS, handheld VHS, etc. I have a 400W inverter but like you said I don't want to waste my battery. Also, has anyone found a reasonably priced 12v FM/CD radio. I've been told that marine radios suck up a lot more juice than a compact FM/CD unit. Any truth to this??? Has anyone used chargers that connect a usb to a 12v source? Are they safe? Joe SeaFrog
