Thanks Connie Her motor must have inadvertenly been laid over on the wrong side. There is a dam inside the crankcase that keeps the oil in when the motor is laid on its side but it only works one way. I'm sorry to hear of Sondra's problems but it made an impression on me. From now on I'll always double check when I lay it over and check the oil when I bolt it to the boat. I don't remember what the fix is if you do fill the cylinder with oil. will have to check with a mechanic. Don
