Thanks, Blair! There is not really that much of a story, but I think you picked up on it pretty well from the video. As far as sailing goes, Lake Maligne was pretty typical of lakes with some gusts and shifts. My son, who is the other person on the video is not a huge fan of sailing and had just spent a week on the Great Slave Lake on the boat where is was pretty cool temperature-wise. He was napping in the warm sun and looked pretty content and comfortable so I took the picture of him that you saw in the video. Soon after a pretty good gust came through that I hadn't seen coming. It heeled the boat over enough that about 5 gallons of water came into the cockpit, right over my napping son! No big deal but it couldn't have been pleasant and his demeanor the rest of the sail was not quite so upbeat. In the 6 years or so I have had the boat, this has happened about 4 times, with the 5 gallons dumped on my son being the most water we have shipped. It was only because my son got wet that this wasn't good this time. The boat always rounds up just fine and flattens out. I always seem to be on the high side when it happens so it is mostly be a fun little thing for me. I hope that explains it. If not, feel free to ask more questions on the group or directly. Is there a story there? What happened? You don't elaborate on the video so I thought I would ask and see if I can learn something. I've been used to getting knocked down on my Sunfish and also on my Lido 14 on occasion, but with the Monty 15 I was hoping to avoid this scenario. Thanks for you insight. I'd love to ask you some more questions as well about your trips to the channel islands. I've been a little hesitant to go that far off shore until I feel comfortable with the Monty 15, but really inspired by your trips to Anacapa and Santa Cruz Island as well as to Mexico. You really use that trailer and boat to the fullest. I learn a lot just watching your YouTube videos and seeing you enjoy your boat with your family.
