Hi Mike and all: I have one of the Ida Sailor kick up rudders and like it very much. It is a well made rudder and I have only minor criticism, that being that the factory varnish job leaves a lot to be desired. The blade hold down takes a little getting used to, but that mastered, I've received good service from my rudder. It is very long and a bit of a hand full when it is not hanging from the transom. Add about six coats of good varnish and you'll have a very good looking, long lasting rudder. Before I do I wanted to ask the group if they thought the product o be a good one. I just purchased M17 #600. She has a wood kick up rudder ow and a back up solid one piece rudder (quite an impressive piece of ood!!!). Looking forward to reading your opinions!
