I think you may have the same color as my 1974 #38 M17 original color. Kind of a tangerine? I've seen a few pics of M17s that color but can't remember whose. Mine was at some point prior to my ownership pained over with more of a deeper red (not nearly so orange) which I really like. There are a few small rub-wear areas and similar where I can see the original gelcoat though.
