It seems to me that when Jerry was in So Cal, there were photo's at So Bay Yacht Club that showed a M15 being hoisted by the chain plates. It may have been in one of the early brochures. Jerry, ring a bell??? I haven't lifted an M15 by the chainplates, but I understand it's perfectly safe (Jerry's done it). That said, I've lifted an older M17 with the toe rail with no problem at all. I'd do it, but I'd be a little nervous too. If I had my druthers, I'd use a strap.
Your ordinary M15 weighs in at around 750 pounds. t

Has anyone lifter their M15 by the chain plates? Are they strong enough? How much does an M15 weigh?
