Doug, When I went looking for a ladder for my boat, I didn't like the ladders that mounted tight against the transom. It seemed difficult to hold onto and climb up. I liked the ladder that had a bit of a stand-off from the transom, like the one you posted. Eight inches may seem narrow, but you only need to place one foot on a rung at any given time. Good luck with your search. It takes 4 bolts and spreads the load well, folds and elescopes, but I haven't tried to break it yet tan S. They make a 3 step model that is available everywhere, and a 4 step model they make for the Potter 19 that is even better. You can order it from International Marine. I need to add a swim ladder to a non-Montgomery boat. The one on my M15 is fairly short and was thinking of using a 3 or 4 step telescoping ladder.
What is current best choice out there?
