Yes, I designed, tooled and manufactured the Montgomery 16 KatBote. Just before I actually had a big heart ❤️ Problem and passed out on the Dock at Swantown Marina. Walking down to the Katbote and totally blacked out. Actually Dan Phy gave me tons of help and me being a stubborn workaholic and I didn’t realize how sick I was. I was too weak to go on the First Salish so I spent a couple weeks just living on the 16 KatBote and after the Salish, Dan helped me pull the boat and like a total idiot I towed it back to Southern California, stopping at Rest Stops at night, I had a 4 step ladder in the cockpit that I could pluck out , climb into the Bote and pull it up after me. Got home but seriously couldn’t catch my breath; wife drove me to an urgent care and they immediately had me transported to Hoag Hospital. I am better these days but no more building boats like I did for 40 years. I had an extra M 15 left over from “The Price is Right” TV show that Dan lusted after so I sold the 16 KatBote to a guy in the Bay Area. Dan’s a M 15 guy….lol Before my issues I built 2 complete 16 KatBotes and when I was forced to close my shop I had a blue hulled, completed hull, ballast, interior and deck in the mold. So I have that in storage at this time; I have the molds as well. I can’t believe how stubborn I was. I was very weak the previous 6 or 8 months and now I know why…. If anyone wants a few photos just message me via email. I’ll send some. Photos don’t post here. Be well Bob Eeg Sent from my iPad

Steve, You'll have to wait for Dave Scobie to chime in. I thought the only cat rigged boats Jerry built were the Sage Cats? Due to the lapstrake hulls I would think they'd look very similar. Was the sail up? If so, then the logo on the sail would tell the tale. Oh well, we'll just have to wait for Dave to give us his thoughts, since he's the resident expert on all things Montgomery/Sage. I saw a Montgomery 16 at the Swantown marina on South Puget Sound today that was cat rigged. The boat owner told me his boat was 1 of only 2 M-16 cat boats built. Is this accurate? I thought there were more M-16 cat boats built. Steve M-15 335
