M_Boats: Sailing with a Centerboard up?

Does anyone have any idea what sailing with a CB up would do to your sailing experience? We were hoping to take "Vaya Con Dios" out for it's maiden voyage (in 25 plus years) next weekend. I just discovered that Bob (Montgomery Boats) does not take credit cards. I was forced to mail him a check and will have to wait longer than I had planned for my new Cb to arrive.
