Thank you for confirmation. That was my thinking since all cockpit lockers are open to below (cabin). I will probably attach a strap between cockpit seats to secure the tank. Bill Ruth

also, unless specifically modified, the 'new deck' M17s (with the aft locker and no outboard cutout in the transom) are not safe for storing a fuel container as they are open to the cabin.
