Hi gang; Just a warning. In the past week my computer has been infected by a virus named: Backdoor.Zincite.A I found out about it when I got a message from JUNO, my ISP, telling me that lots of spam was being sent from my address.............. Via my installed NORTON Anti-virus program I found out the name of the virus, but the installed NORTON program couldn't fix it, though they could give it a name and where it resided. Now that I had an address for the virus, I spent hours looking in my files, holding a baseball bat behind my back, so that if I found the rascal I could clobber him. This was futile, because, as I later found out, the virus hides in your machine and then pulls Harry Potter's invisibility cloak over itself so that you can't find it. Clever, eh? Finally I went to Google. Entered: "Backdoor.Zincite.A virus - removal" and hit Search. Instantly I had the Symantic website with a downloadable fix. It also gave long detailed descriptions of how the virus functions. So after hours and hours of trying to find it myself, the NORTON download went into my computer, flushed out the culprit and eliminated it. Computer is clean again. So, I hope that this virus didn't infect your computers, but if it did, go to Google and get instant help. Now, if we can only catch the spammer, I think we should all gather on the deck of an old square rigger and do a nice keel haul job on him. Preferably over a hull that has about two years worth of barnacles growing on it. Connie
