M_Boats: Shearstripe

Is the blue subject stripe on my 81 M15 gelcoat or paint? I'm asuming gel as the rear Montgomery 14 insignia is there in white. I'm asking so as to know if I can compound it like I'll compound the white hull. Many thanks. Jeff
