Dave, If you want to sail on Lake Natoma be aware that fuel burning engines (electrics ok) are not allowed due to the downstream hatchery facilities. Lake Natoma has a small ramp convenient to the restrooms and parking is ample. At Folsom Lake launch at the Brown's Ravine especially on a windy day. Brown's provides a large launch ramp protected from heavy winds. You want to motor out past the speed buoys, then set your sails. If you see white caps, be prepared for a fast ride and wear that life jacket. --- Fair Winds. ----Larry Hughston / M-15 Old 189 -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of ayakomoore@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, October 17, 2012 7:52 AM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: Small Boat Sailing in Sacramento Area Hello Everyone, I saw some postings from folks in the Sacramento area a while back about sailing at Lake Folsom. I live in Davis and want to sail my 10 foot Montgomery and am wondering about my nearby options, including Lake Berryessa, Lake Folsom and Lake Natoma, Lake Washington, etc. Any suggestions on pluses and minuses would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I plan on sailing this Spring and Summer. Old 189 will be out there......pray for wind...Larry -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of ndorf@surfbest.net Sent: Tuesday, March 06, 2012 6:25 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: Folsom Lake Larry, will I be spotting old 189 out on Folsom Lake this year? Hope so.... Already got Bruce King from Fair Oaks to come out and sail with his M15 last summer... A fleet of three M15s in our backyard reservoir would be very cool. Better still, Karsten, if you're lurking out there...your boat would make four! Goshawk would bring it up to 5... Hmmmm maybe we can have our own "Wrinkle Boat Ran Tan" (sorry GO your gig would always still the "original" :-) OMG now all we need is alot more water in the lake... -Neil
