Jake, I pull my M-17 with a 2003 Taco double cab 2WD auto 3.4L - works fine - you will (and should) slow down going up hills (and down) but it is generally very well behaved. I have possibly exceeded the speed limit on a time or two - don't do that anymore as I am 'older now'. If you are trailering in mountains - put brakes on the trailer (hydraulics are my choice as servos don't like to be submerged). Brakes are always a good thing. FWIW I have almost 700,000 boat trailering miles as I did that for a living . Brakes are GREAT ! Happy trailering - Motor Safe. GO M-17 # 316
