I was told that a bowsprit on my 17' would result in massive weather-helm . . . ----- Original Message ----- From: <s.mcclellan@attbi.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2003 11:44 PM Subject: New Spinnaker, continued Hey thanks for your experienced advice, Bill. Still don't understand though. I appreciate you sticking with me here.... I understand that the spinnaker tack attaches ahead of the forestay, but on MY boat anyway, that would just mean it would hit the bow pulpit all that much more, since the bow pulpit is just fore of the forestay -- UNLESS it is raised up so that the foot of the spinnaker were ABOVE the pulpit -- is that what you mean? OR -- has anyone ever thought of a bowsprit on an M15, or is that crazy? I think it would look pretty cool....
The M-15 asym spinnaker tack attaches ahead of the forestay and flies outside the bow pulpit.
