M_Boats: Advice on furler sleeve.

I recently installed CMI FF2 furler and new genoa on my M-17 and plan to have protective sleeve made locally.The new sail has an anti UV strip attached. I would appreciate advice on type of material and methods of securing it (velcro, etc) and other personal observations re. utility from those with experience.
