"Bones", Thanks for the feedback. My best friend used to have a Briston 27 which was a great heavy weather sailer. One thing I do have is the time to find the right boat. Have a great day. I have not sailed a Ty, but I have sailed her bigger sister, a Bristol 27, on SF Bay. You will not find a finer small boat than the M15 or M17. They both sail like a dream, fast, responsive, and comfortable. My M17's cockpit is almost as large as the M23's. Launching and retrieval is almost as easy as a 16 foot fishing boat, especially if you have installed keel guides on the trailer. You may need to do some searching and waiting to find your M-Boat, but believe me, your patience will be rewarded. Good Luck and keep all of us posted.
