Jerry, You of course deserve to be opinionated, but I have looked at available cam locks (cabinet hardware, West Marine), and I think a cam would slide nicely into a small slot on the inside of the raised rim. Pretty clean to have just a flush cylinder in each lid, but you would need 3 keys in your trunks if you sail with the lids locked. Tom Jenkins On Nov 16, 2009, at 10:53 AM, jerry wrote:
Actually, I stole the idea from some kind of a disremembered X- brand Deathtrap boat and started using it on my boats in the mid-80's. Works great and much cleaner than the usual hasp& lock method, in my opinionated opinion. I wish I could claim it.

Jerry,
Isn't the idea of using an inside line to latch the cockpit lockers your invention?

he probably does- he got the foundry patterns along with the molds. I don't know if he uses them; he probably can 't figure out how to drill them!

Jerry, Where can I find an exact match 6 inch aluminum rear cleat for my M-15. Would Bob Eeg have them as per 1981 M-15s ?
