When I was making the 17, I got all kinds of comments, some wanting a longer tiller, some wanting a shorter one. I think the people who wanted a shorter one sailed with lots of people in the cockpit. Both the 17 and 15, along with the Sages, are compromises. I personally like my tillers longer, and wouldn't have a boat w/o a tiller extension. I like to sit on the coaming when it's blowing. ________________________________ From: David Grah via montgomery_boats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, August 19, 2022 6:41 AM To: jimsadler@jascopacific.com <jimsadler@jascopacific.com>; For and About Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Cc: David Grah <d_b_grah@yahoo.com> Subject: M_Boats: Telescoping tiller M15 Funny, I extended my stock tiller 6 inches or so several years ago and have been very happy being able to sit comfortably further forward. I've never felt limited by the longer tiller when maneuvering. It hasn't even seemed to impact room in the cockpit much.
