M_Boats: M15 Main

I am getting a used set of sails with the Main that has a bolt rope on the Foot for the boom. I have been flying a loose footed Main is there any advantage of putting slugs on the bolt rope so the Main might act as a cross between a fixed foot and a loose foot? George Merry Helen II M15 #602
