Stan, The only bonding between the floor and the hull was at the base of the settees, under the V berth bulkhead and at the CB trunk. Using a vibrating multitool, it is easy to cut a straight line, control the depth, and not create a ton of FG dust. Once the perimeter was cut, it was just a case of lifting out the pieces. When I bought the boat, the floor had been opened over the keel trunk and the PO had not saved the pieces, so I had to fabricate a complete new floor. It was easier to cut out to near the edges to stage for the new floor. I think dudes with questions are great. It means that someone has actually read the post :) Earl Landers -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Stan Susman Sent: Monday, April 04, 2011 10:48 PM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: Re: M_Boats: M17 373 Earl, It looks like you cut the molded glass pan out without harming the inside of the hull. How did you do that? looks clean, when you cut the perimeter did it pull up easy or did you tie it to a tree and drive away? And another thing, did you ever think that so many dudes would have so many questions?
