Bones, Your description and some google earth research say the North Channel would indeed be a worthwhile place to visit. Since it is at least 2700 miles from my house, I would feel compelled to hit maybe Lake of the Woods, Apostle Islands, Isle Royale, North Channel, Lake Champlain, and the Main coast to boot. I wonder if anyone with a Montgomery has done the trip up the Erie Canal and Lake Champlain to the Saint Lawrence via Chambly canal and the Richelieu River, with a side trip to seek some French food in Montreal. We can all dream, can we not? Tom Jenkins M17 Scintilla On Nov 21, 2009, at 6:10 AM, bownez@juno.com wrote:
Hello Bill W.,
The North Channel was a 800 mile drive for me to join a group of Monty sailors in 2007. It is by far one of the loveliest sailing grounds I have ever seen. We went in June. Spanish Marina was less than half filled, and we encountered very few other boats in this pristine area. I want to return soon.
