I took my m15 out on a small lake I know well when winds were projected to be 30mph gusts to 45mph-not knots. We left the dock under double reefed main. I had taken nearly everything out of the boat in preparation for possible capsize. That turned out to be a mistake as the boat handles MUCH better with a little ballast. In this lightweight condition we found that we could make no progress upwind under main alone. Probably because i dont know what im doing. We dropped a fishing anchor and led it to the front cleat and hanked on the storm jib. Upside down first then right side up. We were slowly dragging anchor through the process that took maybe 4 minutes. We pulled in the anchor pulled in the main sheet and had an exciting day on and off the wind. Slow going upwind but under control at all times. There were no seas to contend with to speak of so that makes all the difference im sure but we had no trouble hanking-unhanking-and hanking again in what I consider quite a blow.
