M_Boats: Electrical power source?

Hi Harvey and Deena Iuse one of the West Marine portable power packs similiar to what you describe, but mine also has a 300 watt inverter for AC use as well. Xpower, by Statpower, methinks. A bit pricey, but it enables you to run regular power tools, start cars, has a flourescent light that'll last all weekend, and you can prolong the time by connecting another battery with the jumper cables. I use it instead of a battery on Stargazer. Also as backup power for a PC, or anything else under 300 watts. Regards Harvey/Ga M-17 Stargazer #294
