M_Boats: M-17 attachment of shroud to spreader tip

Hello: I am working on my rigging. I notice that the shrouds fit into a vertical grove in the tip of the spreader. How is the spreader attached to the shroud so that the shroud would not pop out of, and off of, the spreader if the shroud were to go slack, or when lowering the mast? Jay
