I don't think you can get to another ramp, but I'll find out today. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tyler Backman" <casioqv@usermail.com> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 05, 2014 8:22 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: montgomery_boats Digest, Vol 138, Issue 1 Does one of the other marinas in Sacramento or West Sacramento have a good boat ramp? I saw that there are ramps at Miller Park, and Broderick but I haven't been to them. Tyler Davis, CA M15 #157 "Defiant" On Aug 5, 2014, at 7:03 PM, ndorf@surfbest.net wrote:
Jerry: I went out to a LWSC "Open House" at Lake Washington basin a few years ago and decided that the launch ramp there is just too sketchy (my personal opinion) to launch my m15 there. They do have a hoist, but it is rated at something like 700lbs max.
With that said, it is very doable for the Potter 15 crowd to join in, but TwoCan is too heavy for the hoist and I ain't going anywhere near that ramp. Which leaves only one option: overnight on the boat and motor the 30 miles back the following day.
All-in-all I have decided each year to pass on this one.
Now, maybe in a Sage 15 someday...well, that might just be a whole different animal ;-)
