Thanks, George. Probably done for the season here too. Although days are around 75, it's a lot colder at the local lakes. The extension came with the boat. Essentially it is a piece of square tubing about 5 or 6 feet long with a hitch ball at one end. The tubing is the right dimension to go into the hitch receiver on the truck and has a horizontal hole drilled just like the normal hitch. To use it, I unhook the trailer, pull the truck forward, take out the normal hitch and replace it with the extension, secure the extension with the pin, re-hook the trailer using the ball on the extension, and put the boat in the water. It works fine although the extension accentuates the pitching movement of the truck which normal a trailer extension wouldn't do. If you want more information or photos, let me know. ________________________________ From: George R. I also suffer from not having a trailer with an extendable tongue sounds as if you have an alternate solution. "(our trailer actually doesn't have an extension so we use a trailer hitch extension instead)." Can you please describe your solution so that I might take advantage of it next season, I am in the Mid West Valparaiso, IN 50 mi. from Chicago the boat is in the driveway ready to go in the garage today frost is forecasted for tonight:-( George Merry Helen II 96 M15 #602 -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of David Grah via montgomery_boats Sent: Friday, October 17, 2014 9:21 PM To: For and About Montgomery Sailboats Subject: M_Boats: Montgomery 15 Visits Baja (Long)
