David, I used a two step aluminum ladder for my M15 and a 3 step stainless for my Sandpiper 565. The two step is nice and light and is usable but the first step from the water is tough to get on and pull yourself up. So I switched to a 3 step on the Sandpiper The two step I used is http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId... I do like the one I used on the Sandpiper as it is a narrow 3 step telescoping ladder and fits well on the transom. Unfortunately it was only $69 stainless and it shows a lot of rust in the salt water. I guess you get what you pay for. http://www.anchoring.com/3-step-stern-transom-mounted-boat-ladder.html?osCsi... I don't think this is the same one I bought but the brand is the same. If I had to do it over again I would get something like the 3 step telescoping ladder the WW Potter uses. Both Bob Eeg and Sage Marine are also using a good quality 3 step ladder. http://www.westwightpotter.com/store/p-19-parts/exterior-options/hardware/?c... These look wide and may interfere with the rudder swing on the M15 but I haven't measured any. The definite preference should be for a ladder that has 4 point attachment on the transom and enough depth in the water when down to allow relatively easy access. I like the telescoping ones for cosmetic purposes only. A couple of you suggested I find out what Doug Kelch used and I am still waiting on a response from him to check out that option. David Grah Bishop California Montgomery 15
