Hey Jeff and all. Sorry for the misleading title. There seems to be no easy way to do a boot stripe on lapstrake. I did have the original gelcoat stripe to go off of, which helped, but I went around with a razor knife and some of the "bendy", easy pull painters tape and painstakingly taped strake to strake. I wanted to move the stripe up a little so I started by putting tape under the existing line then following with 1/2 inch tape on top of it (I duplicated this at the top). The taping took about 2 hours, but the results were well worth it. There might be an easier way, but I have never found one in many years of searching. Good luck, Michael Ray Molly M M-17 #383
