The first of the summer high's passed through the area warming things up to record or near record temperatures. The good news was that the humidity was between 6-27%; but the bad news was that it was 112 degrees in Phoenix. Out at the lake it was a rather brisk 108. It actually got cool enough to pull a sheet over you about 1 AM. I had stayed away from the Memorial weekend crowd so this was my one weekend to overnight this month. I also used this opportunity to fly the spinnaker for the first time since purchasing the boat. With full sail (bimini, main, and spinnaker) up I tried to take some pictures. However, single-handing required a little more athletic effort than I was willing to exert to get some good pictures. Also with it that warm, sailing with the wind is not that refreshing. I will probably have to resort to night sailing until the monsoon weather shows up. Anyway, off to San Francisco this next week on business. It will be a nice break from the heat, where the temperatures of 62-67 are forecast. Steve Shenkel M17#263 Glendale, AZ
