Some kinds of plastic (e.g. plexiglas) can be cleared with toothpaste, which is one of the finest-grain abrasives available. Specialty car shops should have bottles of something similar (but much more expensive) for soft-top plastic windows. Of course, the key is finding a piece of the same plastic and experimenting with a scored surface before attacking your ports. Maybe Joe can try this out on the piece of polycarbonate I sent him. Does anyone know of a paste / polish / cleaner that is actually safe and effective to use on the Montgomery portlights for removing spots and fine scratches? Or is that a pipe dream?
