I have the narrow hatch board that carries my Cell Phone (Sailing apps. SailDroid, Windfinder, Sailflow and Compass,), Spot, Compass, Metrology device (Temp. Humidity, Barometer) Wind Measurement Device, Binoculars and last but not least a gimbaled beverage holder by SEADOG # 588130-3 on the backside so the drink is in the cabin area and does not foul any lines. We made a short (narrow in height) hatch board to which we mounted cup holders. That makes drinks handy when sitting up at the front of the cockpit (as Dave Scobie suggests for sailing efficiency). That board idea came from Connie Benneck, a great resource on this list. As good as the board with the cup holders work, I admit we mostly set drinks on the floor and are careful. That actually works fine most of the time.

Yesterday on my first sail of my M-15 I was missing my drink holder. What do you use for a drink holder if you do not have a stern bow pulpit to attach it to.
