I converted "Rejoyce!" from a noisy, stinky, too-heavy for a crumbled back outboard to a MotorGuide 54 pound static strust (FW54HTV) trolling mnotor powered by two deep cycle Group 27 batteries in parallel. She is mounted through the hull, beneath the cockpit sole, just aft of the keel, with the control mounted under the starboard seat, just forward of the transom, with only the control handle protruding into the cockpit a couple inches. No definitive test yet, and no GPS for speed checks, but she does nicely as an auxiliary, ran her full speed in a 30-knot blow a couple weeks ago, three plus hours, used about 30% of the power, according to a digital voltmeter reading taken after docked. I previously converted "Joy" my first M15 the same way with a Minn-Kota 65MX with 28 pounds of thrust, and then my 2,800 pound Cape Cod Catboat with a two hp golf cart motor in place of the expired ten hp gas engine. (read about that at <http:// www.unicorn-systems.com/theoldcat.htm> ) Obviously I like electric power! E-mail me at <theoldcat@cox.net> for photos of Rejoyce!'s installation, if you are more than just curious. .--.-. | ( ( )__ \ _ / (_, \ ) ,_) | -== (_) ==- -'--`--' /|\ / \ / | \ | ^^ / | \ / | \ ^^ /361| \ / | \ / | \ ^^ / | \ ___/____| \ ______|_ \ ___ _______/ ==== \___\___/ | “MONTGOMERY 15” / ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~^~~^=~^~~-=~^~^~=~^~=~~^~= ~^~=~~^=~^~~^~^=~^~-~^~~^~= ^~=~^~=~~^~~=~~=~^~=~~^~~^~^^ John Butler - First M15 was #264
